Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures
Summary
Star warfare : Young Jedi Adventures , Star Wars’first TV show set duringthe High Republic Era , just debunked the best explanation for one ofA New Hope’smost absurd Death Star problem . The Death Star is one of the most terrifyingsuperweapons inStar Warshistory , second only to its heir , Starkiller Base . Its ability to destroy integral planet in a individual blast get to it the ultimate menace . Despite this , it had some pretty serious design fault . The most well - know is its ridiculously big caloric exhaust port . However , there ’s one less talked - about fault that is arguably more obvious .
One of the silliest Imperial joke inStar Warsis thatnothing they create seems to have guardrails - including the Death Star , which did n’t have guardrails around its reactor . WhileRogue One : A Star Wars Storyrevealed thatGalen Ersowas the chief engineer on the Death Star , Star warfare : Episode II - Attack of the Clonesproves the Geonosians created the initial designs before the start of the Clone Wars , leading to the hypothesis that the Death Star was constructed by Geonosians . The hypothesis argues that , since Geonosians have wings , they would n’t recall of add something like railings to their invention .
What ’s the right way to ascertain Star Wars ? Here ’s everything you need to know to determine in passing or timeline rules of order , and how to include the TV shows .

Star Wars Reactors Haven’t Had Guardrails For 200 Years
The season finale ofYoung Jedi Adventuresreveals that the reactor of the Republic ’s Starlight Beacon did n’t have safety rail . What ’s crucial to note is that the show takes billet 200 days beforeStar Wars : Episode I - The Phantom Menace . This mean thatthis introductory health and safety feature has n’t been part of a wandflower far , far away for at least 200 year .

The Death Star complete

This is such an obvious supervision that it ’s baffling how neither the Republic nor the Empire thought to instal guardrail for hundreds of years . However , the answer may lie down with George Lucas himself . When being interview forThe Star Wars Show , Doug Chiang , the production designer forRogue One : A Star Wars Story , had this to say about the deficiency of guardrails :
You know , that ’s the mirthful thing . It ’s one of those iconic thing that George wanted to establish in the Star Wars venue , that there ’s no health and guard . It ’s this crazy thing where the min you take away handrails or anything like that , it really kind of puts it in the Star Wars public .
This is certainly an interesting construct . In terms of the Empire , it almost makes sense . Shows such asAndorand movies such asRogue One : A Star Wars Storyshow that the Empire uses indent and striver labor for many of their projects . As such , they catch most of their workers as spendable . Not set up guardrail around the reactor would keep costs , which , given how expensive the Death Star was to build , was a top precedency for the Empire . Since they do n’t wish about their workers , it ’s not much of a stretch to believe that they would n’t bother establish guardrails .

The Republic is grueling to excuse , especially during the High Republic Era . They care more about their workers and value living more in general . As such , it appears thatYoung Jedi Adventuresis just following George Lucas ' musical theme of a lack of health and rubber , no matter how niggling sense it makes .
