Despite her first encounter with the Boy Wonder ending in his temporary destruction , she and Robin get closer throughout the serial .
Robin ’s uncertainty about Flatline may be justified . Damian sees Flatline again inBatman and Robin#7 by Williamson and Simone Di Meo , but she has a previous adventure that she ’s purposely keeping from him . Nika was featured in 2023’sLazarus Planet : Next Evolution#1 in the short story " natural elevation , " and has since returned to Damian ’s aliveness with a mystery about her baby .
DuringLazarus Planet , not only was Flatline haunted by the ghost of the then - deceased Ra ’s Al Ghul , but she brought the supervillain — and Damian ’s grandfather — back from the stagnant . Now , Nika actively keeps this information from Damian despite being aware of who she resurrected . moreover , when search into their account , it becomes clear why Robin has mixed feelings about Flatline wanting his aid .

Damian , however , is more concerned about this than his founder . It ’s no secret Robin has struggled to find a balance between good and evil . Damian ’s struggle is exasperate by him falling in love withFlatline , the crony of Lord Death Man . As ofBatman and Robin#7 , Bruce is aware of Nika ’s mentor and her criminal affiliation . While he urges his boy to be cautious , he trust Damian ’s judgment . Conversely , Robin struggle to trust his own judgment .

Damian Wayne Finds Skeletons In Flatline’s Family Closet
At the end ofRobin , Damian claimed to feel balanced , but that might not be the case . Flatline reminds him of that uncertain flow , particularly considering that her family also has arcanum . With Nika ’s return , Damian has to confront his internal battle between good and evil again , all while avoiding projecting these emotions onto Flatline , or else he run a risk hurting someone he cares about . Plus , with Flatline hiding so much from her dear pastime , her return might be harming him rather than help . Damian Wayneis going to have to face his demons again if he wants to be able to assist his Padre , Flatline , and himself .
