Star Trek: The Next Generation
Summary
Star Trek : The Next Generationintroduced Worf as the first Klingon to get together Starfleet and he finally became one ofStar Trek ’s most dear and fertile characters . BeforeWorf found his soul spouse Jadzia Dax(Terry Farrell ) onStar Trek : Deep Space Nine , he had a few less successful romantic relationships onTNG . But what could have been one of Worf ’s more interesting romantic coupling never actually happened . TNGwriter Tracy Tormé wanted to match Worf with Vulcan medical officer Lt . Selar ( Suzie Plakson ) , who was introduced inTNGseason 2 , episode 6 , " The Schizoid Man . "
Worf is the Star Trek character with the most unconstipated appearances , so he has numerous best episodes to take from across TNG , DS9 , and now Picard .
Worf Almost Had A Star Trek: TNG Romance With Vulcan Lt. Selar
A Klingon and a Vulcan would have been quite the pairing.
Lt . Selar serve in sickbay on the USS Enterprise - 500 under the command of Dr. Katherine Pulaski ( Diana Muldaur ) inStar Trek : The Next Generation ’s " The Schizoid Man , " which sees her join an away team to provide aesculapian assistance to the pain scientist , Dr. Ira Graves ( W. Morgan Sheppard ) . Suzie Plakson is great as Selar , reveal hints of the stoical Vulcan ’s personality in only a few scenes . If episode writer Tracy Tormé had had his way , Selar would have become a recurring character and a love pursuit for Worf . A Klingon and a Vulcan certainly seem like an left over pairing , but perhaps Selar ’s cool logical system would have softened Worf ’s hot humor .
In the final season ofStar Trek : The Next genesis , Worf embarked on a controversial romance with Counselor Deanna Troi ( Marina Sirtis ) , which paired Troi ’s muted compassion with Worf ’s warrior nature .
Selar never made another appearance on silver screen , but she was referenced several time throughoutTNGand has appear in variousStar Trektie - in fiction . Selar apparently continue to serve on the Enterprise after her appearance in " The Schizoid Man , " asDr . Beverly Crusher ( Gates McFadden ) mentions the Vulcan officer as previous asTNGseason 7.It ’s a disgrace Selar did n’t become a repeat character , as she would have made a corking addition toStar Trek ’s impressive roster of distaff Vulcans . " The Schizoid Man " does not suggest at any bud romance between Selar and Worf , but Tracy Tormé may have gotten his want if Suzie Plakson had not been cast as anotherStar Trekcharacter with ties to Worf .

Suzie Plakson Returned As Worf’s Klingon Love Interest In Star Trek: TNG
Plakson also appeared as a female Q in Star Trek: Voyager & as an Andorian in Star Trek: Enterprise.
Although Suzie Plakson never returned as Selar , she did end up playing Worf ’s love pastime as a different eccentric . InStar Trek : The Next Generationseason 2 , episode 20 , " Emissary , " Worf ’s former flame K’Ehleyr arrive on the endeavour with an urgent delegation to find the Klingon sleeper ship IKS T’Ong . Worf and K’Ehleyr briefly rekindle their romance while she is aboard the go-ahead , but K’Ehleyr refuses to marry Worf . K’Ehleyr returns inTNGseason 4 , sequence 7 , " reunification , " with Worf ’s surprise son , Alexander ( Jon Paul Steuer ) in tow . Because of Worf ’s recent discommendation from the Klingon Empire , he does n’t require to wed K’Ehleyr and shame her and Alexander .
K’Ehleyr after discover that Duras ( Patrick Massett ) was behind Worf ’s discommendation , and Duras kills K’Ehleyr to prevent her from reveal the truth . Worf then kills Duras in revenge andclaims Alexander as his son . Suzie Plakson wonderfully brought K’Ehleyr to living , and she would have been a great repeat character onTNG . K’Ehleyr ’s expiry was tragic and nitwitted , reducing her to a catalyst for Worf ’s revenge account . Worf ’s human relationship with his Word , Alexander , became a running storyline and the vernal Klingon later joins Worf on the Enterprise . Worf had some interesting love story onStar Trek : The Next Generation , but a Klingon / Vulcan pairing would have been something else entirely .
Star Trek : The Next Generationis usable to stream on Paramount+ .
